“Friday, 21st April - Elsdon Film Club - Hell or High Water - With their mother recently deceased and their family’s West Texas farm facing foreclosure, two Brothers — ex-con Tanner (Ben Foster) and divorced dad Toby (Chris Pine) — embark on an audacious bank-robbing spree to raise some cash. The only thing in their way? A wily Texas Ranger (Jeff Bridges) and his put-upon partner.    Directed by David Mackenzie.  2015 (Cert 15)  Doors Open: 7pm. Elsdon Village Hall.  Films start 7.30pm.  ADMISSION £4.  Sweets and refreshments available.  Empire magazine said: “Taut, tense and burnished by Jeff Bridges at his best. This is a deceptively simple tale of Texan cops and robbers that drags the Old West into the modern age” .

Can you spare a few groceries
or other essential items for the Newcastle West End Foodbank?
The need is especially great at the moment
after the Christmas rush.
There is a box at the back of St John’s Otterburn where you can drop of items, which will be regularly collected.
